Chloe's Birthday Doll

So I bought This doll online last year for Chloe for Christmas. I loved her luscious lips and her blonde hair that looked like chloe, she doesn't have blue eyes but 2 outta 3 aint bad! But then she ended up getting WAY too many present for Christmas so I saved it for her birthday.  And since I am insane and have to sew something for my kids for their birthdays I decided this baby needed her own wardrobe! It was kinda tricky, I could only sew when Chloe was at preschool or after she went to bed, it was worth it! I have had a bunch of people wanting to see all the clothes I made so we had a little dolly photoshoot the other day just for you Pam :)
This was the cute outfit that she came in, I love her little shoes!
She of course needed her own ballet outfit, complete with shoes! I have to be honest, these ballet shoes were hard to make!! they would NOT stay on!! super frustrating.

She had to take her doll to ballet to show her teacher of course.

So I just made a bunch of tights and little dresses, out of old clothes or fabric I already had, these didn't cost me a dime! And since Tina had an American girl doll when she was like 14 (ha ha not joking) my mom had a bunch of doll clothes patterns that made it way easier to figure it out. This doll is alot smaller tho, so I had to make all my own patterns that fit. I am REAL good at it now tho! they got progressively better the more I made.

This ruffle shirt and these jeggings just might be my favorite tho :)

And this coat is Chloe's favorite, her doll has to wear it every 10 minutes. And of course every doll needs her own Uggs right?

These overalls were one of the first things I made and had to keep cutting down cause they were huge, and Chloe doesn't fancy them, probably cause she has never seen any!

This flowered shirt is one of her favorites, cause Chloe has one similar, It's made out of an old onesie. Her nightgown and runners were the only things I actually bought, I got them from Michaels...yup they have doll clothes there!

Oh and I did buy her "fancy" dresses  I got this one at Target to match the girls' Easter dresses. It was I think a 3m size?

But Chloe was So excited they had matching dresses! They got all dressed up and "went to the Temple" Her and Lincoln are always pretending to go to the Temple and get married. ha ha

Her Fancy coat, with matching hat of course!

And I got this rapunzel dress on clearance at the disney store, so they can play princess together!

And the last thing I made was her birthday dress....

To match Chloes!

It was so fun making all the clothes and I hope she keeps liking It Cause I would love to make more! Regan thinks I need to make doll clothes and sell them now, better get my sweat shop started!!

And this was At chloe's party Tina wanted a video....and no of course I never told her to say that!!

Sewing as of late

So Im only like 3 months behind in blogging. meh I will catch up with a bazillion pictures later. thought I would share some of the things I have sewn lately. Since I have an awesome sewing room now and LOVE to do it!  My sister had a baby. HENRY!!! he is the cutest thing ever, you can check him out at HER blog. and you really should, she is hilarious. So I was an awesome sister and made her a bunch of blankets.
cutest fabric ever!!!

Loved this one too, the checkered side was SO soft.

Ok Dix (my mom) made this one, but it was too cute not to share!

This one was my favorite, I was just DYING for
someone to have a girl so I could make a scalloped blanket.

And since Tina didn't know what she was having there was a 50% chance it was a girl......but then it wasn't. oops.

I made a fleece one too. cause I bought some for Ash and it was so
cheap we bought the rest of the bolt!

So 4 girl blankets and 2 boy ones.....not bad. (dix thought it was a girl)

Chloe was invited to a birthday party and I forgot to buy a present so I whipped up these adorable dolls instead. I think it is way more fun to give something handmade, and chloe was super excited cause she helped me pick out their "clothes"

I made chloe this adorable little dress. and i didn't edit one of these pictures (shhhh don't tell pam!)

"It spins SOOO good mom!"
Ha glad she likes it!

This adorable bouncy chair was made with love for Tina's baby. Henry looks too cute in it....again refer to HER blog :)

We went to Bear lake this year and it is one LONG drive. SO I made the girls some neck pillows...they were a HIT!

And of course they needed some new towels to sport at the beach!

Tina asked me to make Henry a bow tie for his blessing, they are pretty cute right?

But not near as cute as the little Ties i made!!!!
Ha ha I was DYING about how cute these turned out and how stinkin easy they were!

And this was also for Henry....man he is just getting spoiled rotten isn't he?? It was supposed to be for his shower but Chloe couldn't wait until then to give it to him!

And here is the adorable Henry Man on his blessing day. LOVE him!!! I am sure I will be making more things for this sweet little face. We are so sad they left yesterday to go back home :( big SAD face.

Ash's Car mat

So My baby Ash is turning 2. Can you believe it? not me! I really like making my kids presents if you haven't noticed. I had a tough time deciding what to make Ash, Chloe got THIS for her last birthday, so I couldn't just make her another doll or something. I know I know how am I going to top the felt playhouse?? but I am seriously in LOVE with this one!
Ash is pretty girly, not nearly as girly as Chloe, but who is??  The boys that I babysit have a little car caddy in their bag that Ash pulls out every day and plays with, and she LOVES cars and trains and anything that moves. So I thought maybe I would make her one of those, but then I saw THIS on one of my favorite blogs. and I knew thats what I wanted to make her! I had been really busy and before I started I thought, 'oh I won't make it as detailed as hers so it will be easier" But who am I kidding when have I ever done anything halfway??

So I present to you MY piece de resistance! Ash's Car playmat:

To Say that this playmat was a lot of work is an understatement. It was an insane amount of work, every building took me at least an hour and that is just the small ones. My math isn't that great but if I had to guess I would say it took me approximately a million hours. Well it comes pretty close to that I am sure of it. I have been working on it during naps and when they are in bed for a month and i am SO happy to finally have it finished!!

I totally admit to completey copying homemade by Jill's playmat almost exactly. When I went to draw out mine, I was REALLY tired. so I ended up just using hers as a pattern, it was so easy cause everything she makes is SO cute! Chloe's playhouse was made patterned after her playhouse too. What can I say I am a huge copy cat, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?? But seriously I am in love with her blog, everything she makes is AMAZING!

It has all of our favorite places to go, Nana and Papa Holt's house:

Gramma Dixie and Papa Steve's house:
(complete with hill in the backyard)

It really was so much fun to make. But those roads. OH those stinking roads. I dont know if any of you have done alot of the "satin stitch" but it is the SLOWEST stitch. it took me more than 4 hours to stitch around those damn roads. my sewing machine thanked me when I was finished.

On Jill's playmat she has the beach, I think they live in California or somwhere by the ocean obviously. but we have wally's beach....still cool right?

Tina insisted we have a ballet studio, and I am very glad, cause I love it! and so does Chloe she has been DYING to play with it. since she doesn't nap anymore she was my sewing helper.

The train station, we dont actually have one of these. well we probably do but I dont  know where it is or what it looks like so I just copied hers!

This has been called the 3 hour train track, cause it took me yes 3 painstaking hours to stitch. totally worth it!

For our 2 Papa's who are on the Raymond Fire Dept. one of who is the fire chief, We had to have a fire station:

And probably MY favorite is the school, complete with playground of course :)

And cross walks, so the kids can get home safe!

Of course our little drivers need to eat, they can get all their grocery needs at Safeway, or go get a delicious treat from Crazy cakes:

The other thing was that the fabric I had chosen as the background had a little too much stretch to it so when I sewing one direction it went all bubbly, you can see it on the road. REALLY frustrating. i tried to interface the back, but I didn't have any heavy duty stuff and was way too lazy to go buy some. oh well. they will still like it!

Or they can go through the drive through for a Happy Meal:

We have our church:

And Gas station, with car wash:

The Back has this cute car fabric on the back we got at Joannes.

And of course we had to have Toys R US. and I have no idea how to turn this picture. sorry about that. aaaand looks like I didn't clean off all the extra threads did I. oops.

Oh and just the "residential" area of the mat:

Anyway I am pretty happy that it is done and really proud of it! I am hoping they will play for it for a LONG time and someday appreciate all the work that went into it.

Happy Birthday to my Smash!
